1st Team Meeting

WHO: Azula and any vault dwellers who show up.
WHERE: The Rec Room
WHEN: Three hours after her annoucement.
WHAT: Azula's "War Council" to disseminate information and introductions...also snacks.
WARNINGS: Possible discussions of violence and/or dark backstories.

Azula had attended a number of war meetings growing up as well as social affairs for meeting with important members of the public or military. This was different for a number of reasons, the largest being that this was a place no one seemed to have any respect for her title.

But she could handle that. It had taken her half a month to come to terms with it but here the title "Princess" was only as important as she made it.

Unfortunately that meant having to play "Nice" having to bite her tongue and not get frustrated when she wasn't catered to. That would have been harder for her two years ago, and impossible a year ago.

But here we were, with her waiting patiently near the entrance to the Rec Room to greet people as they came in. Oh how far she'd fallen.

"Come in, help yourself to some snacks. We'll get started soon."

"Well... I am a cop, so I might fit in," he confessed, in the tone of someone sharing an important secret. "My boyfriend's the superhero."

Shen Wei would have objected to that characterization, but Shen Wei had superpowers, a swishy cloak, a mask, and a secret identity that wore glasses, so he wouldn't have had a leg to stand on.

Not that Yunlan was ever going to have the chance to inflict superhero shows on him. Or magical girl ones. He blinks, once, quickly, and keeps the grin in place.

"If you happen across any leather jackets, let me know! Or jeans."

"You're...sort of a cop." Sandy disagreed "You're more like a detective...you know like in the movies?"

Mostly because he was the exact opposite of what Sandy thought of when she thought of cops.

The next part got her excited though and her eyes lit up leaning in closer.

"What kind of powers did he have?"

"Aw, thanks! I worked hard to get there." It's probably a compliment, or, at least, he'll choose to take it as one. It's not like he doesn't have one or two shitheads for colleagues -- not in his department if he can help it, but his department's under ten people.

The question's not one he'd usually answer, but, usually, he wouldn't have been giving away Shen Wei's secret at all. It's less of a secret now. He's dead and he should be remembered as exactly as awesome as he had truly been.

There's a pained crimp at the corner of his smile, but he's still smiling as he continues. "Oh, lots of things! He told me once he could learn how to use any power he saw. Shields, energy blasts, healing, freezing things, using portals to get from place to place like bam!"

"Wow." Sandy tried to imagine a hero with so many useful skills. Most the heroes her dad talked about were themed to some degree.

"He wouldn't have had any trouble down here then. We coulda just portaled out of here or something." she mused and then shrugged "But we've got you and if he thought you were cool enough to date that's gotta count for something."

"Oh, he was way out of my league," Yunlan brags, "and you're right! If he were here he would've smashed right through the front doors in five minutes.

"But until he wakes up out of one of those pods downstairs I'm gonna have to do my best."

He leans over to deliver a very light punch to Sandy's shoulder, in the best approved bro style. "Good thing I've got so many people around to help!"

She laughs and even tries to punch him back...he's a little taller then her though so she has to go up on her toes.

"You're already doing pretty great. If that's not your best then it's gonna be cool when you step it up."

He reels dramatically at her punch, and recovers. "Aw, thanks, Sandy. I'll try to live up to that!"
